 Performance poetry and soundscape

"The combination of amazing sound effects and evocative poetry took my mind on an exciting and moving journey."

Now available on cd and download from Last FM

Flexigesis is an experiment with spoken word by playwright and librettist Peter John Cooper. It is a multilayered performance piece that has evolved with a soundscape triggered live by electronic media artist Simon Waters. Simon has developed a continuous track but adds from a battery of specially prepared samples that he has constructed from life as well as electronically. Among the mix are the products of a day recording in the pouring rain and pounding wind along Swanage seafront.

Even the microphone will be treated with effects used in the same way a guitarist in a rock band would.

Flexigesis is a journey through terror, the possibility of death, or worse; and the realisation of emotion through art. On the way it pops in and out of amusement arcades and village fetes and takes a glance at nuclear annihilation.

This is naked performance – one man and a microphone versus one man with a battery of sounds.

The whole thing will last about 40 minutes and is guaranteed to blow your mind.

The whole of Flexigesis is now available as a download from Last FM. Click on this link..http://www.last.fm/music/Flexigesis

This is what our audiences have said:

“Thought that was really quite majestic...

Really enjoyed the journey....

Would like to hear more.”
