Peter John Cooper ranting

Peter Cooper has been a writer and director for 30 years. He has worked in repertory companies throughout the country and was Artistic Director of the Oxfordshire touring Theatre for six years. In 1992 he set up Spyway Projects with Annette Sumption. They were responsible for a national tour of Captain Pugwash and for summer seasons at the Mowlem Theatre Swanage where they produced the world premier of a play by film and TV writer Guy Hibbert. His speciality is working on community projects as writer and director.

Whilst he was in Oxford Peter discovered he was in demand from businesses to apply his skills in consultancy in presentation training. He spent some time in the business services sector before moving to Swanage. In 1996 he undertook a business management course at Bournemouth University. As well as its arts work this has been a very successful vehicle in developing creative ideas in the commercial world. Among his clients have been BP Exploration where he reworked their Health and Safety Induction Training Programme.
